Learning piano in the car or on the beach on a app does not afford the student time to practice the proper hand technique and posture. But it may help them read music. My students are asked to practice the proper technique right from their first lesson. If they don’t have the proper equipment (piano bench, pedal, stand for keyboard) I will not take them on a students until they are better prepared because it is quite simply, a waste of their time.
